Rebecca de Vries is an attorney and mediator. She began her career as a court clerk in family matters in the judiciary. Rebecca has now been practicing law for over thirteen years and is a member of the vFAS, MfN and the Foundation for Inheritance Mediation. Rebecca has been a member of the Board of Delegates of the Dutch Bar Association and the Family and Juvenile Law Advisory Committee of the Dutch Bar Association.
Rebecca specializes in personal and family law and inheritance law. She is chair of this section at Van Veen Advocaten and confidant within the firm. Assisting her clients in difficult times is what Rebecca does every day. In her practice, she mainly deals with divorces, breakups, family disputes, such as maintenance, access and custody, or inheritance law issues. Rebecca also advises on drafting prenuptial agreements or a will. Rebecca assists both individuals and business owners.
In mediation, Rebecca guides you together to reach mutually agreed upon arrangements for the termination of a relationship or marriage or settlement of an estate. Mediation can only take place if all parties involved are open to it. Should mediation fail to provide a solution, Rebecca can assist you unilaterally as a lawyer and, if necessary, initiate court proceedings.
“Rebecca takes an incisive and clear approach. ‘What you see is what you get’. She will not talk down to you, but has an antenna for the social aspects and will also provide space for emotions. As a mediator, she can really lead a conversation and intervene when necessary. Rebecca is described as very professional and knowledgeable.”
