Doing justice. That’s what Chris Tijman likes to do. He has been working as a lawyer at Van Veen Advocaten for quite some time and has not been idle. Initially, he started with a general practice. He then shifted his focus to running a practice as receiver in bankruptcies and adviser to directors and companies in financial difficulties. To this end, he completed a Grotius specialization course in Insolvency Law. Later, he focused more on employment law and for this he also successfully completed another Grotius specialization course.
Currently, Chris practices as an attorney in employment law, corporate law (including bankruptcy law) and administrative law. He helps his clients, both entrepreneurs and private individuals, to prevent or solve problems. Especially his experience as a receiver – and thus his knowledge of what can go wrong – provides a good toolbox. He is also a confidential advisor at Van Veen Advocaten and is involved in corporate social responsibility.
“By asking the right questions, Chris knows how to quickly uncover essential information and get to the heart of the matter. In doing so, he not only looks at the legislation with a keen eye, but also the client’s problem an sich with empathy and analytical ability. He then looks for a practical solution. He often does not make things more difficult than they are, but does not shy away from litigation either. The client’s interest is his starting point. With him, you know where you stand at all times.”
